New Zealand hunting with Doughboy Safaris gives you access to world class Red Stag, Fallow Buck, Tahr, Chamois and Wapiti.

We have our own private property for your exclusive hunting experience.

Alex Monahan has been hunting in New Zealand most of his life and professionally since 1987 so has the experience to make sure you have the best hunt available.

Duck in New Zealand dont migrate, this means they are in our area the whole hunting season.

Ducks are very weary early in the season due to hunting pressure but by the start of june have
settled  and are getting hungry as we get further into winter.

This helps the hunter as the ducks are now feeding  in young  grass fields and grain that is fed to stock by farmers, also they are
decoying and coming into calling much better than  they were in  the earlier part of the season.

Our native new zealand paradise duck and the cunning mallard are our main ducks hunted.

 

Paradise ducks are native only to New Zealand and a pair make a prized taxidermy memento
 of a great trip to Doughboy lodge. Hunt them over decoys in fields or on water.

Tahr and Chamois
With New Zealand hunting these mountain species, you can either spike camp (for this you need to be in very good physical shape) or helicopter until you spot game, then land and hunt. The helicopter option takes about one hour flying per animal. Up to 2 hunters can fly together or bring your wife with the video for some spectacular footage.

Duck Hunting Day Rate
Shotguns and ammunition supplied, also the necessary license. Bag limits – 15 per day.
